The Minn Kota Ultrex continues to be the trolling motor of choice for professional freshwater anglers; for good reason. When you integrate all of this technology into the rock solid chassis of the Fortrex, what more could ask for? How about a powerful, whisper-quiet brushless motor with up to 115 lbs of max thrust?
Well you got your wish because the Ultrex is now available with Minn Kota's powerful new QUEST Series Brushless motors with dual voltage (24v/36/) and max thrust of 90 lbs - 115 lbs.
Ultrex competitors from other brands have brushless motors, so we're glad to see that Minn Kota has unveiled their own. Due to reduced friction and heat, the primary advantages of brushless trolling motors are quieter operation, more thrust/power, greater efficiency (longer run-time) and increased lifespan. When Minn Kota invited me to demo the Ultrex QUEST last October, I was blown away at how quiet and powerful it was. The new, unique styling for the QUEST Series is pretty nice too.
In addition to its responsive feel, the multifunction foot pedal on the Ultrex QUEST includes buttons for popular features such as Auto-Pilot and Spot Lock; all right there with one tap of the foot. When not using the foot pedal, use the key-fob style Micro Remote which is now standard on all Ultrex motors.
Minn Kota's "Advanced GPS" technology (previously i-Pilot/i-Pilot Link) provides more auto-navigation features such as "Drift Mode" and "Dodge" which can be enabled using the foot pedal or Micro Remote. Tap into Minn Kota's One Boat Network to control your motor, enable GPS auto-navigation and mapping features from select Humminbird fish finders or the updated smartphone app.
The Ultrex QUEST also comes standard with Humminbirds' latest Dual Spectrum CHIRP sonar (DSC) which provides a wider range of frequencies producing more detailed returns of fish than the previous US2 sonar. With a compatible Humminbird, you can opt for integrated MEGA Side imaging which provides incredibly detailed down-scan. Humminbird's amazing MEGA Live transducer and Target Lock can be mounted directly to the Ultrex for unobstructed live scan sonar in all directions.
Standard features include: Power cable steering, multifunction foot pedal, Micro Remote, Lift Assist, Advanced GPS, Digital Maximizer, Stow/Deploy Cable, Composite Shaft, Weedless Wedge 2 and Power Prop, Smartphone App and a Two Year Warranty. A Humminbird Helix transducer adapter cable and ethernet adapter cable for Minn Kota's One Boat Network integration with select Humminbird fish finders are also included.
