Well you got your wish because the Ultrex is now available with Minn Kota's new QUEST Series brushless motors. The Quest Series motors are "dual voltage" which can be wired for 24v (90 lbs thrust) or 36v (115 lbs thrust) depending on the size and weight of your boat.
In addition to its responsive feel, the multifunction foot pedal on the Ultrex QUEST includes buttons for popular features such as Auto-Pilot and Spot Lock; all right there with one tap of the foot. When not using the foot pedal, use the key-fob style Micro Remote (included).
Minn Kota's "Advanced GPS" technology (previously i-Pilot/i-Pilot Link) provides more auto-navigation features such as "Drift Mode" and "Dodge" which can be enabled using the foot pedal or Micro Remote. Tap into Minn Kota's One Boat Network to control your motor, enable GPS auto-navigation and mapping features from select Humminbird fish finders or the updated smartphone app.
The Ultrex QUEST also comes standard with Humminbirds' latest Dual Spectrum CHIRP sonar (DSC) or you can opt for integrated MEGA Side imaging which provides incredibly detailed side and down-scan. Humminbird's amazing MEGA Live transducer and Target Lock can be mounted directly to the Ultrex for unobstructed live scan sonar in all directions.

Ultrex QUEST Full Details
Recommended for:
Medium to large freshwater, bass boats, v-hull, pontoon, jon boats and general fishing boats. When wired for 24v, you'll have 90 lbs of max thrust on tap which provides enough power for boats weighing up to 4,500 lbs. When wired for 36v, you'll have 115 lbs of max thrust which provides enough power for boats weighing up to 10,000 lbs. How It's Unique
The Ultrex QUEST trolling motor is the Porsche of foot control motors - there is no substitute - and is a big step up from the classic, cable-steer Minn Kota Fortrex.
In addition to its brushless motor, the Ultrex offers Minn Kota's revolutionary "Power Cable Steer" foot pedal technology which provides the feel and responsiveness of a cable steer motor foot pedal in addition to GPS auto-navigation functions such as Spot Lock and Auto-Pilot. In orther words the Ultrex QUEST truly is the best of both worlds.
We still recommend the Fortrex trolling motor for fishermen who are looking for a top-shelf cable steer motor but have no need for a brushless motor or GPS technology features such as Spot Lock. The Fortrex is available in 80 and 112 lb thrust levels.

Mounting Details:
This motor is bolted directly to the bow of the boat using the included mounting hardware and requires securing 6 bolts into the hull for installation. Ideally, it's best to have access to the underside of the mounting platform in order to secure and fasten the bolting hardware.
The Ultrex QUEST is a bit heavier and more powerful than most trolling motors. Due to the weight and torque, deck reinforcement may be required prior to mounting the motor. For more information, click here to download the Ultrex QUEST installation instructions. Recommended Quick Release Brackets: For models with a 45" shaft select the Minn Kota MKA-61. For models with 52" and 60" shaft lengths select the MKA-62 bracket.

The motor can be wired directly to the batteries or it can be used in conjunction with a trolling motor power plug and receptacle for a cleaner, more professional looking installation. If using a quick release bracket, a plug and receptacle will also allow you to easily plug and unplug the motor from the batteries for easy removal and re-mounting.
To protect the motor from electrical damage due to "amperage spikes", installing a 60amp circuit breaker is highly recommended.
Shielded, marine grade wiring should be used to connect the motor to the power source (aka batteries!). To determine the appropriate gauge wiring download this circuit breaker and wiring table.

Motor Run Time:
Important Note: Calculating run time is very difficult due to the many factors involved. As you likely won't be running your trolling motor 100% of the time, the actual amount of on-the-water time will be longer than continuous run times listed below. Trolling motor run time can vary depending on the boat, operating conditions (winds, waves, etc) and the type of battery used. Stow and Deploy Method:
Ultrex QUEST motors feature a nitrogen charged gas spring that makes it easy to stow and deploy. This design is very similar to the hydraulic mechanisms on many vehicle tailgates.
Motor Steering Method:
The motor is steered via the the Ultrex Power Cable Steer Foot Pedal, compact Advanced GPS Micro remote or Minn Kota's One Boat Network smartphone app. If networked with a compatible Humminbird fishfinder, you can also control all motor functions as well as additional auto-navigation and mapping features.
NOTE: The Ultrex Micro Remote offers basic controls, Spot Lock, Auto-Pilot, Jog and High-Speed Overpass. To access all Advanced GPS functions, a full size Advanced GPS Remote is available for purchase. As mentioned above, full functionality is also available with the One Boat Network smartphone app or a compatible Humminbird.
Shaft Adjustment:
An adjustable depth collar makes it easy raise and lower the prop height for optimal depth depending on your fishing conditions.
