The Minn Kota freshwater Terrova has been the most popular trolling motor on the market for years; for good reason. Whether you fish for crappies, bass or walleyes, the Terrova has always been a dependable, high performance companion on the water.
With the new 2024 freshwater Terrova 112, all of the features that make the Terrova so popular have received upgrades; the new lever-style stow/deploy mechanism and integrated Dual Spectrum CHIRP sonar just to name a few. As always, feel free to ditch the anchor and stay glued over that brush pile, courtesy of Minn Kota’s legendary “Spot Lock”.
Also new for 2024; Minn Kota’s “Advanced GPS technology” with a redesigned remote replaces their previous i-Pilot GPS system adding some new GPS navigation functions including “Drift Mode,” and “Dodge”.
Integrate your Terrova with select Humminbird fish finders and tap into Minn Kota’s One Boat Network offering seamless communication and control between various Humminbird and Minn Kota products. The Terrova is also available with integrated MEGA Down Imaging for crystal clear down scan from your compatible Humminbird.

2024 Terrova 112 Full Details
Recommended for:
Medium to large freshwater center console, Carolina skiffs, Deep-V, Pontoon and general fishing boats. The 36v - 112 lbs thrust motor is recommended for boats with a fully laden weight up to 7,500lbs and length up to 26'. However, fishing conditions, hull design/shape and intended use all have a significant impact on calculating the appropriate amount of thrust for your boat. For more help determining the right thrust for your boat please refer to our thrust guide.
How It's Unique
The Terrova is a step-up from Minn Kota's entry-level PowerDrive line of motors. Compared to the PowerDrive, the Terrova is available with a more powerful 36v 112 lbs thrust and shaft lengths up to 72". It's also easier to stow and deploy with a more rugged construction.
All Terrovas are equipped with Advanced GPS and come with the a full size Advanced GPS Remote and a Heading Sensor (enables the popular Jog Feature). Most freshwater Terrova models also include a multi-function foot pedal and integrated sonar. Freshwater PowerDrives are available with Advanced GPS and the smaller Micro Remote as an option. All other freshwater PowerDrive models are operated by foot pedal.
While both models offer GPS technology, only the Freshwater Terrova lineup enables simultaneous operation with wireless remote and multi-function foot pedal. The Terrova's unique mount also enables easier one-hand stow and deploy relative to the PowerDrive.
We recommend the PowerDrive trolling motors for fishermen who are looking for a no frills, value-priced motor with optional Advanced GPS (including Spot Lock) or foot pedal operation. The PowerDrive is available in 55 and 70 lbs thrust levels. If you need a motor with higher thrust levels, longer available shaft lengths, one-hand stow/deploy and more available features the Terrova is the motor for you.

Mounting Details:
This motor is bolted directly to the bow of the boat using the included mounting hardware, and requires drilling 4-6 bolts into the hull for installation. Ideally, it's best to have access to the underside of the mounting platform in order to secure and fasten the bolting hardware. However, if accessing the underside is impossible you can use no access bolts to secure the motor from the top. For more information see our compatibility guides or download motor installation instructions and heading sensor instructions.
If you wish to take the motor on and off your boat, you can also opt for a quick release bracket. Due to the weight and higher thrust levels of the Terrova 112 a stronger, more reinforced quick release bracket is required. The appropriate quick release bracket for all Terrova 112 shaft lengths is the MKA-64 Quick Release Bracket. For longer shafted models such as the 87", a specialized mounting solution such as the Shuttle Slide SS-7.5 Rotating mount can provide more installation options for boats with limited deck space.
Mount Dimensions:
14 17/16" length x 8 3/8" width

Motor Run Time:
Important Note: Calculating run time is very difficult to calculate due to the many factors involved. As you likely won't be running your trolling motor 100% of the time, the actual amount of on-the-water time will be longer than continuous run times listed below. Trolling motor run time can vary depending on the boat, operating conditions (winds, waves, etc) and the type of battery used. Listed below are run-time estimates assuming a 100 amp hour rated batteries. To learn more, please see our article on calculating motor run time.
- 20+ Hours: At slow, trolling speeds that draw 5 amps or less
- 4.8 Hours: Approx. run time with throttle 50% open
- 2.4 Hours: Approx. run time with the motor at full throttle
Stow and Deploy Method:
The Terrova's manual stow and deploy system is activated by a foot lever and employs weight distribution which works like a pendulum and helps carry the weight of the motor. Simply depress the lever, grab the top of the control head, pull up and then swivel the shaft down into the stowed and locked position. The "Auto-Park" feature automatically lines up the lower unit with the mounting ramp for easy stowing.
Motor Steering Method:
The motor is steered via the included Advanced GPS remote control or a multi-function foot pedal. The Terrova 112 can also connect (aka network) to compatible Humminbird fishfinders via an ethernet connection. This networking feature is part of Minn Kota's "One Boat Network" and allows you to control your motor directly from the Humminbird and tap in to additional auto-navigation and mapping features.
Download Minn Kota's One Boat Network smartphone app to control your motor directly from your phone and sync up with compatible Humminbird fish finders for mapping and auto-navigation features.
