Quick Details
If you want the most advanced motor on the market, look no further than the Minn Kota Ulterra 80. Since your time on the water is sacred, you want to spend it hooking onto serious fish, not wrestling with your trolling motor. Maybe you’re also getting a little older (and wiser) and you’ve finally earned the right to stop pulling your motor in and out of the water all day long. Perhaps you simply want the most advanced product on the market. Whatever the case may be, the revolutionary Minn Kota Ulterra is the only trolling motor on the market with power lift, stow and trim all at the touch of a button.
In addition to Automatic Stow/Deploy and Power Trim, the Ulterra 80 comes standard with i-Pilot and available with i-Pilot Link GPS functionality. Want to stow or deploy your motor? Push a button on the remote. Want to raise or lower the depth of your motor? Push a button.
If you aren't already impressed enough with the Ulterra, it is also available with Integrated MEGA Side Imaging and/or MEGA Down Imaging. Just hook up your Ulterra to a compatible Humminbird fishfinder for the latest, high resolution, real-time imaging technology.
Make no mistake, a lot of us like things the old fashioned way, and when Minn Kota first released the Ulterra we had some doubts about reliability. But, after a significant redesign by Minn Kota in 2017, we are confident to give it our full endorsement. The Ulterra is rugged and reliable with only a few moving parts where absolutely necessary. Minn Kota cut no corners, even using a kevlar belt and brass gearing in the power lift assembly.

Ulterra 80 Full Details
Recommended for:
Medium to large freshwater v-hull, bass, pontoon and general fishing boats up to 23'. The 80 lbs. thrust motor is recommended for boats weighing up to 4,000lbs. For more help picking the right thrust level - or to learn how much your boat weighs - please refer to our thrust guide.
How It's Unique
The Ulterra series is the flagship motor from Minn Kota and a step up from the Terrova line of motors. While both models are available with i-Pilot or i-Pilot Link technology, only the Ulterra line offers Minn Kota's proprietary Auto Stow/Deploy and Power Trim technology. The Ulterra is available in 80 lbs. or 112 lbs. of thrust.
If Auto Stow/Deploy is not a "must-have" for you, we recommend the Minn Kota Terrova trolling motor for fishermen who are looking for a top-shelf motor that includes i-Pilot and i-Pilot Link without the Auto Stow/Deploy and Power Trim. The Terrova is available in 55 lbs., 80 lbs. and 112 lbs. of thrust.

This motor is bolted directly to the bow of the boat using the included mounting hardware and requires drilling into the boat for installation. Ideally, it's best to have access to the underside of the mounting platform in order to secure and fasten the bolting hardware. However, if accessing the underside is impossible you can use no access bolts to secure the motor from the top. For more information, see our compatibility and mounting guides, or download motor installation instructions and heading sensor instructions.
